Love

Knowing who you are and loving yourself removes the need to rely on others to fulfill your desires. So, when I wasn’t loving myself enough, I entertained whoever could. Whoever I thought could love me enough, which is toxic as hell. No love will ever be enough when you are not loving yourself first. Everything that I was lacking showed up eventually.

Love is not controlling. Love is not possessive. Love is an emotion, a feeling, an act, an experience. Love is discipline, devotion, and dedication. Love is gentle and kind. Love is eternal and infinite. Love is truthful and transparent

Looking at someone through the lens of innocence allows one to give and receive the purity of love. I’m sure being ignorant can make love feel easy and innocent. Adolescent love reminds me of two people existing separately, just being grateful to experience each other. It’s like, I think you’re pretty perfect, as do you, let’s be together. When I was growing up, it was just that simple.
